The MOVER and her MUSIC- Step in the name of LaMarie.
What if “a whole vibe” was an R&B artist? What attributes would be mandatory? Poise? Rhythm? Transparency? Does their music make you move? Relate? Even literally yell out, “what SHE said!”? I definitely believe in ALL OF IT. In today’s music industry where carbon copies can make you bypass the REAL gems; for me, it’s MANDATORY. And after meeting the beautiful, soft spoken, talented songstress… I definitely believe in LaMarie.
LaDasia “LaMarie” Harris was born and raised in the north county of St. Louis, MO. A child of the performance arts, she had a natural love for dance, step, and cheerleading. “I was always in tune with my creative side.”, says the McCluer South Berkeley alumnus. “It wasn’t until 8th grade when I started playing around with music. I felt I was pretty good, so it became a passion.” The 26 yr. old began writing songs based on life experiences. As she grew in her gifts, she was preparing for the world.

As a dancer/singer, LaMarie has a DOUBLE passion for MOVEMENT. From her school and dancing years, she’ll never forget competing with her team against top dancing squads on Lifetime network’s tv show, “Bring It!”. “I’ll never forget going up against the Dancing Dolls.”, she recalls. Her love for dancing naturally had a large impact on her musical inspirations as well. “When I look up to a singer, it always has to be someone who is a good dancer too.” LaMarie admires the infamous R&B singer/dancer, Ciara. “She’s an amazing dancer…AND a fellow Scorpio sister.”, she grins.

In November 2023, LaMarie released her debut album, “Lust Love Pain” through Distrokid, available on all platforms. The album weighs in with heavily relatable ballads on love and relationships, to a beautiful tribute to her lost loved one, Jaymes. Though authentic in her range and storytelling, LaMarie has been told that she channels the class of drifty vocals, such as top artists Jhene’ Aiko and Tink.

“Right now, my plan is to have my city on lock. For everyone to know who I am as an artist, and then travel.”, she states. LaMarie is currently working on networking, promoting, and releasing visuals for her new album. Make no mistake about it, with determination and the right motion…she could only be STEPS away from STARDOM.

“Follow your dreams. Do what you are called to do. Put God first.” -LaMarie
