The Good & the Gang- PT speaks from the HUSTLE.
In the whimsy world of hip hop, we are constantly swept away by catchy beats and “enticing streets”. Meaning, so much of the music gives you the impression that the FAST life is “living your best life”. As fun as it sounds, we all know too well that fast lanes can often lead to dead ends. At that point, we need a detour. Influencing us to take those “street smarts” and cultivate a FRESH START. That’s the music of PT Da Double G… hope of a HUSTLER, music over MATTER.

“A lot of people “fake it ’til you make it”…that ain’t how we roll. I don’t like to fabricate. I like realness.”, says the north St. Louis native. PT Da Double G prefers to write music about his real-life experiences and the lessons thereof. His knack for conclusive storytelling and sharp notes of good advice, laced with a “southern” style flow; easily sets him in a different lane.
Fred Turner, aka “PT Da Double G” grew up watching BET network’s classic show, Rap City. “I remember when it was Joe Clair and Big Lez.”, the 42 yr. old MC recalls. “We really didn’t have too many popular St. Louis artists back when I was coming up, not until “Mo” (Nelly) came along. So, we listened to artists from everywhere else.” PT says he looked up to legendary rap groups such as N.W.A., Wu-Tang, 2 Live Crew, Ghetto Boys, and OutKast. “Currently, it would probably be Gucci Mane. I also like Kodak Black right now, Don Trip and Starlito, and I still like Rick Ross.”, he smiles. PT says he was raised particularly listening to rappers from the south. “Growing up it was definitely 8 Ball & MJG, and UGK. Those were like my influences.”

Optimizing his influence, PT began writing and recording his own music. He says his personal style is “real and reminiscent”. “A lot of my rap is not about what I’m doing currently, but it’s about those memories. Playing pictures inside my head. That’s how I come out with my music.” In June 2023, PT Da Double G dropped his debut EP, “Just Gettin Started” on streaming platforms. “It was basically a collection of songs I already had, and I was so eager to put it out, my nephew Trent Lee helped me a lot with that.”

Earlier this year, he also released his single “Dirt on My Chest”, a tribute to his late cousin, Dirt. He followed up with singles “Say That”, “Trappin Ain’t Dead” featuring Rahli, and “4 The Hustlers” featuring the late rapper, Luh Dave. Recently, PT released his new single, “God is My Friend”, featuring RHM Baby D and Lee Keyss.
He is currently working on networking, and his new project entitled “Real Northside Representer”, set to be released soon. “I want to be that artist that whom people say, “he did like a million features.” I just want to jump on everything and make good music, “feel good” music. That’s what I love.” Backed by the support of his wife, kids, and PTM family, if it’s good to PT Da Double G… the world will be NEXT to know.
