Regal. Real. Relatable. That’s the music of TREAZA. The singer/songwriter’s catalog gives the vibes of a candid girl surviving LIFE and LOVE. In-depth lyrics. Smooth and satin vocals. Her music is easily an echo of an enthusiastic lover’s battle within. I catch a chat with the beautiful songstress at her show’s soundcheck.

“I’ve always been an entertainer. I’ve always been dramatic. Always been singing since I was in middle school.”, says Treaza (pronounced “treasure”). The St. Louis native grew up in a musical family. “My mom was always the DJ of the family. Music has just always been around me. So, it just comes natural.”

Starting her singing journey, she was part of a local R&B girl’s group at age 14. As Treaza grew, she began to tap into her solo talent, while drawing inspiration from her environment and experiences. “Music is therapy for me. I write about everything I go through, or what I’ve seen. Love, life, and my relationship with God.”, she shares. “It’s no real “box”. I try not to put myself in a box as far as R&B. When you’re a singer, they always try to do that. I eventually want to get into Gospel as well.” Treaza’s musical admirations are R&B singer Brandy, the legendary Sade, and Anita Baker. “I’m real old school.”, she smiles.

The singer describes her style as “modern and sensual”. “Lowkey, I’m still figuring it out. I always want to be authentic to who I am, but I still want to be a light to everybody else.”, she explains. “I want people to be entertained when they see me…I don’t want to be boring.” In 2020, Treaza released her first single, “Bad Habit” on streaming platforms. “That’s still my most streamed song ’til this day.”, she states. April of 2022, she released her debut EP, “Exposed”. In November 2022, the singer followed up with single, “Sweet Company”, and her “Conscious” EP in March 2023. Her latest single is “Came Too Far”.
