Sounds of the Saiyan- SteeziE preps us for the PUNCH.

Vivid. Versatility. A fireball of unique flow. SteeziE can easily be labeled in a LANE OF HIS OWN. Heavy on the lyrical heat, even hotter on the rhapsody. Give this MC a mic, and the vibe is SUPER SAIYAN. No mercy on the music…no medic in sight. I chat with the young pioneer after his performance.

At 14 yrs. old, Michael Lawrence aka “SteeziE”, knew that he was meant to test the “musical waters”. “I always loved all kinds of music, but what inspired me to rap was Lil Wayne.”, says SteeziE. “Especially when I heard Drought 3.” The stage was set for the optimistic St. Louis native to explore the craft and develop what would be a unique brand of bars over beats.

Lawrence grew up listening to music of all genres. Heavily inspired by the variety, he began crafting a “versatile style” of expression in his music. “My top 3 artists would definitely be Michael Jackson, Lil Wayne, and Deaf Leppard.”, he says. As he developed his artistic style, the MC began to cultivate an effortless knack for infusing multi-genres together. Laced with bold lyrics, and clever wordplay, it’s safe to say that you could label the artist’s genre as “pop rock hop”. “I just love the vibe of all music, and how it makes you feel. I like wordplay.”

In September 2022, SteeziE released his single, “Super Saiyan 666” on streaming platforms. In December of 2023, the rapper followed up with singles, “Dead to Me”, “Voices”, “Final Boss Battle”, and his hit “anime-fused” single, “Nindo”. His latest singles are “Cannibal Soup” and “Adios”, released in January 2024. “I’m working on releasing a lot of music.”, confirms SteeziE. “Increasing the flow of what I’m doing, right now I’m doing good.”

Currently, SteeziE is focused on lengthening his dynamic catalog and stage presence. “I wouldn’t mind collaborating either. There’s a lot of local artists, male and female, that I rock with. I just want to keep doing what I’m doing. I stopped, but I told myself–don’t do what you did to do what you stopped doing.”, he laughs. “I want everything I do to be an instant classic. That’s my end goal.” SteeziE is well on his way to higher heights. Music is his rocket…and he holds the POWER. Ready. Set. LAUNCHED.
