You never know what’s next in the weather of this wordsmith. Rebranded and reapproaching the scene with new vibes but the same vision. Let’s all tap in… Rayne’s drops are a BOP.

St. Louis/University City native, 2PhoneRayne, had music on the mind since childhood. However, what hooked and reeled him in was a particular “legend”. “I was in music my whole life, but the turning point was ’06 when I heard that first John Legend album.”, recalls the 26 yr. old. “It was the first album my mom ever bought me. I had this radio in my room, so I used to sneak and have it on at nighttime. I SANG.”

Later in life, that same experience became the inspiration and catalyst for Rayne’s musical aspirations. The artist also credits artists such as the music group, Black Eyed Peas. “I kinda draw inspiration also from new artists as well. People always think it’s the artists from back in the day, but that new Teezo Touchdown album went crazy.”, he smiles. “I like a certain sense of artistry. Indefinitely being a little weird and outside the box.”

2PhoneRayne describes his style as “alternative hip-hop and pop”. “I incorporate rap into most of my music. Usually when I make music, I’m approaching from a sonic standpoint. I’m looking for what sounds good.”, he elaborates. Rayne says that his music is his “personal diary”. “There’s a mirage of messages in my music. Like my first album was after a breakup. It was heartbreak. Just anything that I’m going through in my mid 20’s that can be hard. Purposely, I decided that I was going to seek out lessons that I feel my father should have taught me. It’s all in the music.”

Recently renamed, 2PhoneRayne (formerly Elijah Rayne) released his debut album “Rayne Dropped” on streaming platforms in May of 2022. “It was terribly mixed.”, laughs Rayne. “But I really take pride in doing all of it.” In February 2023, Rayne released his sophomore album, “Off The Ground”. His latest single, “2closetome” was dropped February 2024.

2PhoneRayne is currently working on rebranding, performing, promoting, and his third studio album. “I’m just trying to sonically show up. It would probably be one of the most pop albums I’ve done.” The sky is the limit for this artist…and from there its heavy RAYNE on the horizon.
