Pop Goes the Portrait- Srenee draws a page of PASSION.
Meet Srenee. A blooming artist with expertise in style, stencil, textile and pencil; working her magic on one unsuspecting photogenic at a time. Transforming exposures into exquisite pieces is her specialty. A beautiful soul with a heart for the arts and a smile of sunshine. Let’s dissect the “fetch” behind her sketch.

“My mom (rest her soul) told me that I started drawing when I was 2 yrs. old.”, shares the St. Louis born artist. “I had these little doodles. The first one I did was of this woman walking a poodle.”
Stazie Renee “Srenee” Johnson’s toddler years became the catapult into her creativity. “It became something I became immersed in so long. Even in school, I was pretty much always doodling.”, she laughs. During high school, the 37 yr. old creative admits that she went through an “artistic hiatus”. “I’m just now really getting back into it.” Srenee (pronounced like “serene”) picked up where she left off and stepped forward–into portrait paintings.

Srenee specializes in unique 3D paintings of her muse’s portraits. She is also a sketcher and muralist, with amazing pieces featured in the city, including south St. Louis’ artist hub, The Kre8 Place. Recently, she gifted She Writes’ chief editor and artist, Ngozi The Blessed, with a portrait painting for her birthday.
“Right now, I’m just focusing more on my craft, getting myself out there.” This gifted artist is well on her way into the spotlight and wall space of St. Louis’ most noble art lovers. Invading our heart spaces along the way.

“Don’t compare yourself to others. Paving your own artistic voice is what makes you YOU. It’s your blueprint others will recognize you by.” -Srenee
