One Hitter Glitter- Lady MC comes to SPICE up the mic.
Meet Spicey. An authentic rap queen from STL’s music scene. Burning through bright, this rising star’s gritty bars engage a destiny for the big stage. With beauty and glam for the cam, and skills on top tier…we can honestly say this peppery fem MC is the next WILDFIRE…water please!
“I couldn’t really sing. But I love writing.”, shares St. Louis born rapper/MC, Airra “Spicey” Lynn. “So because I couldn’t sing, I would write poetry. I tried to sing my poetry, but it wasn’t working.” The artist eventually began leaning towards rhyme and rhythm…spitting her bars to the beats.

Growing up, Spicey spent her younger years “finding her own light”. “Alot of times when you speak on your inspirations to people, they don’t understand them.”, explains Airra. “That’s not their goal, so they think you’re crazy. You start keeping dreams to yourself.” The gifted MC found her inspiration in the arts, life experiences, and music. “My favorite artist was Brandy. I still love her ’til this day.” She also admired the writing skills of legendary rapper and producer, Missy Elliott.

“I want to be responsible with my music for my listeners.”, says Spicey. The artist describes her music as “positive, but I talk s***”. “Teenagers like my music, adults like my music. I don’t walk to make it seem like women have to prostitute themselves just to make something good, and I also don’t want men to think that we want you because you got a little money. I’ll still let you know I can “lollipop gum drop” your a**. My music is multifaceted.”

During the COVID 19 epidemic and quarantine, Spicey became more familiar with online dating. “I was on POF.”, she laughs. “I was becoming a huge streamer like for real.” In February of 2021, Spicey released her first single, “Date App Rap” on YouTube, inspired by her online dating experience. “It went crazy. It was popping on the app. I said, “You know what, I’m going to start writing raps for other streamers, and get paid for it.” In July 2021, the rapper released her cover to beat maker Epik The Dawn’s “The Get Back”. Spicey followed up with cover of Nicki Minaj’s “We Go Up” in May 2022, and single, “All Nite” in April 2023. Her latest single is “Batter Up”.
At the moment, Spicey is currently gearing up to release new music, performances, and writing projects. “I have some freestyles that I’ll be releasing weekly. Matter of fact, this will hold me accountable.” She is also working on an EP, and re-venturing into ghostwriting. The limelight is calling, and this talented artist is well worth the answer. Catch her while you can…before the stars raise the price on this spice!
