Poetic Pressure- Local MC pushes HEAT between the lines.

Meet Suave4Guwop. A local upcoming “artistic arson”. With rap music on the mind, Suave4Guwop is a flame to find. Laid back yet expressive, I chat with the “smooth operator” about his life and love for lyrics and the lab!

St. Louis native artist, Mark “Suave4Guwop” King, spent his school days developing his penmanship through poetry. “It was a nice outlet.”, shares the Central VPA alumnus. “That later translated into me thinking maybe I should make some music. A surreal way to express yourself. If not for you, then for the next person.”

The 28 yr. old MC grew up around heavy creativity, hip-hop, and hustlers. “My uncle was always a hustler, always getting paper to put stuff together and make stuff happen., Mark reflects. “I kind of took after that.” He credits his favorite artists to rapper/MCs such as Toronto native artist, Drake. “He’s a lot of people’s favorite artist. Definitely one of my top guys that I listen to.” Suave4Guwop has many musical inspirations, taking good vibes from each one, influencing his own artistic expression.

Suave4Guwop’s first release was his track, “Out of Sight, Out of Mind.” “I like to melodize my music.”, he explains. “I describe my genre as trap/soul. Or trap/r&b.” The artist released single, “Away from Me” in May 2024 on streaming platforms. He followed up with singles “Freak Bihh” and “First Class” during this summer. Suave4Guwop also featured on Finesse Squad’s “Draw Down” and “What’s the Deal?” from their “The Finessers, Vol. 1” album earlier this year.

“I write about pain, struggle, and mix it in with good times.”, says Suave. “Just moving forward and going up with life in whatever you’re doing.” The artist is currently recording and prepping to release more music. “I’m still getting comfortable recording and being on stage. I was a shy kid, and now I’m a shy adult.”, he admits. He is also planning his releases strategically. “I got a lot of unreleased music. Just trying to sort out what and when to drop.”

Dedicated to growth and his fanbase, Suave4Guwop’s vision goes beyond just his music. “I’m also a podcaster, gamer, and I’m also working on a merch line. So, I just want to see things grow and expand internationally.” Hopefully, the vibe from this artist will stand the test of time and spread like a wildfire.
