Funk in the Forecast- Enter Bolly’s flow of DISCO INFERNO.
Meet Bolly. A soulful spitting singer/ MC with a groovy “disco degree”. Stylish. Suave. Sizzling. This upcoming funkadelic rapper sheds the limelight on the legendary Disco era, bridging the gap between the 70’s swing and trap! Tap in as I chat with the man with the plan.
“Music for me started off as instrumentals, typically saxophone.”, shares the St. Louis native artist. “I joined my middle school band and practiced day in and day out.” Inspired by the funk era, and a promise made to his late grandfather, Bolly kept his head down and sound up, crafting his own shaggy style as a disco-rap pioneer and legend in the making.

Growing up in St. Louis, the groove master noticed a shortness of unique in the music artist flock. “If you do some research into the local music scene, there are artists that stand out but there’s a huge blend of people that sound the same.”, says Bolly. “So, me sitting down and coming up with the concept and finding beats that fit the persona of disco-rap, its beneficial.”

The Granite City High grad is known for his lyrical “throwback” slang in many of his tracks. “Like “far out” and “out of sight.”, he explains. “Things that you would say back in the day. I try to switch it up and go through the decades with my music.” Bolly’s catalog can be described as “feel good dance music.” “You can play my songs on holidays and events for people to just get down.” adds Bolly. “No tear down music.”
In February 2023, TheofficialBolly released his debut single, Gold on streaming platforms. The singer and rapper followed up with singles Soul Train and Cherry Bomb Kisses in summer of the same year. In mid-September, Bolly released his debut EP, Sequence. “I had been sitting on those songs for years.”, says the artist. “I didn’t record them until I got the courage.” His latest project and mixtape, Pick A Genre, was released in late November 2024. “With that one, I just emptied my vault of writings.”
TheofficialBolly is currently focused on networking and collaborations. “I kind of stepped back from my personal projects and I’m networking and doing features with local artists.” Bolly says. “I’ve proved that I do very well as a stand-alone artist, but collaborating and complimenting others’ art and vice versa is a challenge that I’m willing to take on for 2025.” Excited to see what “dancefloor boogie” this intriguing artist brings next to the set.

“Be different. Do your research. Don’t be afraid to experiment and share your work.” -TheofficialBolly
