Gritty & Grateful- Local MC spits it REAL on record.
Meet Kay-Gee. A “leave it on the mic” lyricist with bars for the brave hearts. Bold, cold and blunt is the route for this mastermind and the listeners get the message loud and clear. Tap in as I chop it up with one of Midwest’s valid MCs.

Yazoo City, MS born artist Kenyadrick Eubanks aka “Kay-Gee”, landed in music like a dart on a target. “Going to an art school, I was always around music.”, he shares. “I enjoyed putting things together, creating.” The St. Louis raised MC took his love for rap music serious enough to set his own signature on the tracks, birthing a unique flow and a new name to know…this is Kay-Gee.
While growing up, the Central VPA alum remembers his youth as days vibing to some of hip-hop’s most notable greats. “I was a big DMX and Jay-Z fan.”, says Eubanks. “Once I got into music, it was a passion. That was my canvas.” The rapper also admired the legendary MC, LL Cool J. During high school, Kay-Gee began producing his own music and developing his writing skills. “Putting the beats together, putting the lyrics on top, and then when you hear the finished product, you just created your little masterpiece.”

The 40 yr. old artist describes his music as “diverse”. “I’m a rapper first though.”, says Kay-Gee. “I write music according to how I feel, I always want the beat first because it sets the tone for whatever I want to talk about or direction I want to go with the song.” While in college, Kay-Gee’s first produced project was titled The Balance. “I want listeners to know that this is my truth.”, he explains. “I wouldn’t classify my style. If I feel it, I can get on anything.”
In January of 2021, Kay-Gee released his debut EP titled The Prequel, on streaming platforms. In December 2021, the rapper released his single Mustard, followed by Dirty Floor in March of 2023 featuring Full Figga. “My music is my interpretation and description on how I see things, even if it’s not my situation. As a storyteller, I can make a fictional story. I always have meaning and substance in everything I say.”, adds the artist. His latest single is Eddie Kane, released in December of the same year. Kay-Gee is also a videographer and professional bartender in his local city, serving spirits and visual storytelling from behind the lenses.
At the moment, the MC is currently promoting and performing. “I’ve been in my promoter bag. Booking events and showcases every other Friday.”, he says. “I also bring other artists in to perform. Giving them a venue to do their thing.” Kay-Gee is also finishing his new EP titled Therapy. “I just want to be able to quit the 9 to 5 and be more profitable with my music.” The artist is also planning to establish an all-in-one studio workshop for the local youth. While building discography and organic fanbase, Kay-Gee is also building momentum. Brick by brick, it’s only a matter of time before this gifted gem is at the top of the tower.

“Don’t stop. Nobody is going to do it for you. Do it now. Peace, love and hip-hop.” -Kay-Gee
