Black to the Basics- Jmarty’s sonic keeps it SOLID.
Meet Jmarty. Intriguing, innovative and industrious. A creative hitmaker from the tribe of high vibes. I catch a convo with the artist about his music, motivation, and major plans.

“Pop and spiritual.” Those were the big two words that came from the St. Louis born artist, Jamarion “Jmarty” Scott when asked about his personal vibe of tunes. The 28 yr. old musician totes a mystical catalog of road trip worthy jams with catchy hooks for the books, highly inspired by vibrations, values, and voicing his truth in rhapsody.
As a youngster, Scott had a heart for rhythm and harmony. “Out of a lot of artists, I definitely would say Michael Jackson was my biggest inspiration.”, shares the Cahokia native. “Just his style and his message. He was about unity. The children matter. We all matter no matter what color. He was about sparking a change.” R&B singer Bruno Mars and the late legend James Brown were also some of Jmarty’s favorites.

The Marquette High grad’s first single was titled Round Here, released in 2018. “My morals changed since then.”, explains Jmarty. “I was young and in a different mindset, but that was my first.” In October 2021, Jmarty released his debut album, Humble Life on streaming platforms. The hip-hop and pop artist followed up with his studio EP Halloween Baby in December of 2022. “My messages are about waking up and empowering the people.”, he says. “Letting people know that we as one are sovereign to the land. Even though we’re different, we’re powerful.”

The songwriter has released over 25 projects, including singles Mello Yello, Angelic, They Don’t Know, and Away featuring Young Tjay. His latest EP, 5th Dimension Ep. was released in January 2025. “Positive vibes and somewhat groovy. I got some R&B here and there too.” Jmarty is also a producer, content creator and apparel owner under his brand, Jmarty Inc.

Jmarty is currently producing new music and performing locally. “Within five years, I want to at least have my production studio and building. For acting, music, dancing, etc. I’m trying to do something for all artists and myself too so that I can take my brand further than what it is.”

“Your crowd will gravitate towards you. Don’t chase people that’s not for you.” -Jmarty
