Chicago born/St. Louis raised model and artist, Bria Nichole Reid stumbled into her craft of creation during her early college years. “I struggled with self-esteem issues.”, she shares. “In college I had a friend who was into photography. “They kind of pushed me to get into it. They used me as their muse, and it took me out of my comfort zone. Ever since then, it’s been up from there.”

As the Trinity Catholic High alum grew in her confidence, so did her interest in the arts of fashion. “Honestly, I didn’t want to initially get into modeling.”, says Bria. “I wanted to work in the fashion side.” The 27 yr. old found inspiration in her grandmother’s seaming skills. “My grandmother was a seamstress. She made her own wedding dress. Another grandmother was always into fashion. Always a fly girl. Even my dad is into it.”

The 5’2″ model’s aesthetics can be described as “urban”. “I give of a streetwear vibe when I do my shoots. Alot of my ideas and concepts, I get from music.” Some of Bria Nichole’s favorites to draw from are R&B singers SZA, Jhene, Khelani, and Summer Walker. “I use their music a lot.”

Bria’s catalog of work includes fashion/brand shoots, local fashion shows, and a spread feature in a popular Spain magazine. “My most memorable project was a project I did called “The Minimalist.” The photos got submitted and featured in a Madrid (Spain) magazine. I can’t pronounce the name of it, and I don’t want to mess it up.”, she laughs. Bria Nichole is also a stylist and model coordinator for shoots and shows. One of her more recent works is a series inspired by singer SZA’s song, Love Language.
As of late, the model and creative is currently focused on lengthening her modeling/styling portfolio. “I’ll be one of the stylists for a show coming up in June for Juneteenth.”, confirms Bria. The creative also looks forward to launching her own fashion magazine and boutique. “I’ve always said I wanted to create safe spaces for creatives to be able to express themselves without any judgement. That’s also a goal.” Her unique sense of style and poise has the punch to go great distance in the fashion world. Claps for this Covergirl!
