St. Louis born and raised disc jockey and artist Symone Palmer, better known as DJ Monie Loveee, developed a love for music through the influence of family. Raised in a musically inclined household, the Webster Groves High grad remembers melody always being present. “My mother is a professional in all things music.”, she explains. “She’s a longtime performer. She was also one of the premier faces of the Fabulous Motown Review. I got to watch her on stage a lot.”
Apart from performing, Palmer’s mother was also an elementary school music teacher, choir singer and director. “My dad is an audio engineer.”, adds Monie. “He started his own studio right before they had me.” The disc jockey and her two siblings played instruments heavily in their school years, sharpening their genetic musical iron. “Basketball took my attention away from music for a bit, but my brothers kept going. One of them is a professional musician now.” Monie’s early exposure to music arts set the stage for her returning and finding her foothold in serving sounds first locally, and then regionally. “This is a full circle for me.”, says Loveee. “I just celebrated one year in my DJ career last March so I’m proud of that. Becoming a DJ has allowed me to go back to my musical roots.”

Growing up in a Christian background, the Wash U. (Washington University) and Olin School of Business alum remembers the boundaries that shaped her taste. “My parents did their best to “shield” us from certain secular music.”, she laughs. “So, I had to do my own research.” The music lover’s favorite genre is jazz. “My grandfather heavily influenced me to get into jazz music, so I consider that my fav.” Monie also loves funk, R&B, rap and gospel.
Monie Loveee’s love for music highly influences her disc jockey style and signature. “DJing is the perfect way to showcase my love for different genres.”, she says. “I’m also big on nostalgia, so I love to pull in some classics.” DJ Monie Loveee has turn tabled many notable events throughout the greater St. Louis area and region. From corporate to milestone celebrations, Monie’s spins are the win.

The 29 yr. old creative is also a graphic designer, photographer, shoe customizer, and brand ambassador. “Graphic design is a primary passion.”, explains the artist. “I couple that with my background in education and marketing. I think that puts me in a really sweet spot.” Monie relates her arts to the structure of her favorite sport, basketball. “My skillset is like my key players. Those are my starters. I’m working on being a better coach for myself.”

Monie Loveee is currently working on branding, consolidation, and continuing to turn up local functions. “Girl, I got too many Instagram pages.”, jokes Loveee. “2026 is the year I consolidate and go deeper down the path I’ve forged for myself as a creative.” The entrepreneur is basking in the first milestones while building her empire. “I am actively reflecting on one year of being on my own. Taking in all the wins, dissecting and saying “Ok, how can I be more efficient?” With a foundation of dream chasers behind her, there’s no time before this star is up and stuck.

“Don’t fold for anybody for any reason. Always be yourself.” -DJ Monie Loveee
