Verse Vixen- Damo Reigns as the lady in LIMELIGHT.
Fly. Fierce. Fabulous. Meet Damo Reigns. A fem MC with a spark for fame, and a fire to tame. If “glamourous gangstress” was a vibe, Damo is SERVING, and we’re here for the menu! Check out our cool convo at south city’s artist hub, The Kre8 Place.

St. Louis born rapper, Damonique “Damo Reigns” Watkins, found “love at first sight” for hip-hop… through her beloved husband. “He’s a big inspiration.”, says Damo. “I’ve always loved music, but I’m new to recording.”
Raised in Buffalo, New York, Watkins says she began writing at a young age. “I’ve been writing all my life.”, she explains. “I’ve been doing poetry, writing songs… just not laying anything down.” The 33 yr. old artist shares that lately, she feels more confident in her calling. “Now I’m stepping into my purpose, getting into this thing and making it happen.”

Self-described as “a ball of creativity”, Damo grew up with a passion not only for music, but also film, painting, culinary, and many other arts. “I loved Edward Scissorhands. I’m really weird to be honest.”, she laughs. “Whatever I think of, I just put it out there.” Reigns’ first recorded song was titled “Come Here Boy”. “It’s a very sexual type of vibe. A bit vulgar. I just kind of laid it all out on the table. It’s a bop. One of my biggest songs.”

Currently, Damo Reigns is working on artist development, producing, and releasing more music. “I’m tapping more into my R&B side. I’m trying to get my “soft girl era” on.”, Damo confirms. “I want to show my daughters something different as well. You don’t have to be hard all the time.” As Damo continues to lay down the hits, we wish her the best on her drops. Let it REIGN.

“Keep pushing. You never know who you might touch.” -Damo Reigns
